Crisis Committees

What are Crisis Committees?

A crisis committee is a dynamic committee designed to simulate fast-paced and evolving situations. Unlike traditional General Assemblies, crisis committees focus on responding to unfolding events in real time through documents called directives, rather than drafting all-encompassing resolution papers. Crisis updates, or messages sent to introduce new developments or challenges, will occur throughout the committee. These updates will push delegates to think on their feet and adjust their strategies, change their alliances, and rethink their approaches to solving the crisis. Delegates will also be asked to write crisis notes, which are essential for detailing how they plan to respond to events, implement personal initiatives, or influence outcomes behind the scenes. These notes can directly shape the direction of the committee and impact future crisis updates.
